Jayne Violette
Dr. Jayne Violette, Assistant Professor in Communication Studies, came to Eastern Kentucky University in 2002. Her B.A. is in Communication Arts, from Georgetown College, her M.A. is in Theatre Arts from the University of Kentucky, and her PhD. in Communication is also from U.K. Dr. Violette, having taught a wide variety of human communication courses in higher education for over 16 years, estimates that she has listened to and evaluated more than 10,000 speeches given by her public speaking students. In addition to teaching public speaking courses, Dr. Violette’s areas of interest and expertise include instructional communication research and theory, communication training and development, research methods, and gender studies.
An active member of the National Communication Association and other professional organizations, Dr. Violette also shares her passion for helping others develop their communication skills through her consulting company, “UltraViolette Communications.”
She enjoys reading and music in her spare time and resides in Georgetown with her husband and daughter. |
